Who is responsible for your information?

MedAscend is responsible for the personal information collected through this webinar website. Questions or requests can be sent to ayaan@medascend.education.

What we collect

When you register, we collect your name, email address, whether you are a student or parent, your consent choices, registration time and the campaign or link that brought you to the page. After registration, you may optionally provide your school year, intended pathway, location, main application concern and WhatsApp number.

Where analytics consent is given, we may also collect information about page visits and interactions through Google Analytics and, when configured, Meta Pixel. Essential registration works without analytics consent.

Why we use it

• To reserve and administer your webinar place.
• To send confirmations, joining links, essential reminders and promised resources.
• To tailor the webinar to the audience using optional profile information.
• To send optional admissions resources or future event updates only where separate marketing consent is given.
• To understand which posts, advertisements and messages generate registrations, using campaign parameters and consented analytics.
• To protect the service, investigate errors and prevent duplicate or abusive submissions.

Our basis for using the information

Essential webinar communications are used to provide the event you asked to join. Optional marketing and non-essential analytics rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We may also use limited technical and campaign information where reasonably necessary to operate and improve the registration service.

Who processes it

Information may be processed using services such as Netlify for website hosting and Google Workspace, Google Sheets and Google Apps Script for registration records and email delivery. Google Analytics and Meta technologies are used only when configured and permitted by your analytics choice. These providers may process information in countries outside your own under their applicable data-transfer safeguards.

How long we keep it

Webinar registration records are normally kept for up to 18 months after the event so that MedAscend can administer the event, handle enquiries and assess campaign performance. Information may be deleted earlier on request, unless it must be retained to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Optional marketing records are kept until consent is withdrawn or the information is no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent. Rights vary by location. Email ayaan@medascend.education with the address used to register. Withdrawing optional marketing or analytics consent does not cancel your webinar place.

Young people

The webinar is intended mainly for older secondary-school students and their parents. MedAscend does not intentionally invite children under 13 to register independently. A parent or guardian should register or contact MedAscend where appropriate.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses essential browser storage to remember first-touch campaign information, analytics choices and registration state. Non-essential analytics scripts are not loaded until “Allow analytics” is selected. You can clear browser storage through your browser settings.

Changes

This notice may be updated if the event setup or service providers change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
